How Much Do BJJ Classes Cost in Mildura?

By Luke Burnham — Head Coach, Mildura Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (brown belt, Gracie Elite Australia)Published on 14/07/2026

If you are looking to start martial arts, one of the first questions you probably have is about the cost of BJJ classes in Mildura. At Mildura Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, we believe in being completely transparent with our pricing so you can make the best decision for yourself or your family.

How much do BJJ classes cost in Mildura?

Our adults BJJ classes cost $30 per week, kids and teens are $25 per week, and toddlers are $20 per week. We also offer a casual drop-in class for $25 and a bootcamp-only membership for $90 per month.

What Does a Weekly Membership Actually Include?

When you sign up for a weekly membership at our gym, you are not just paying for a single class. You get unlimited access to the classes available for your age group across our entire schedule. For adults paying $30 per week, this means you can train at our 6:00am morning classes from Tuesday to Thursday, hit the midday sessions at 12:00pm on Mondays and Fridays, or join the evening classes running throughout the week. We have classes running 6 days a week, ensuring that even the busiest shift workers and parents in Mildura can find a time that works for them.

Weekly Billing vs. Lock-In Gym Contracts

The fitness industry is notorious for locking people into long-term contracts that are incredibly difficult to cancel. When Luke Burnham founded the gym in 2016, the goal was to create an accessible, family-friendly environment for everyone in Mildura. That is why we operate on a simple weekly billing system. There are no hidden sign-up fees, no annual maintenance charges, and absolutely no lock-in contracts. You pay for the weeks you train. If your circumstances change, you aren't trapped in a 12-month agreement. We want our members on the mats because they love training, not because a contract forces them to be there.

Family Discounts for Multiple Members

Because we are a family gym, we know how quickly extracurricular activities can add up when you have two, three, or more kids wanting to participate. We provide generous family discounts to make it easier for multiple members of the same household to train together. Whether it is two siblings in the kids classes, or a parent training alongside their teenager, our family rates ensure that martial arts remains affordable for households in Mildura.

The Casual Class Rate: Try Before Committing or Drop In

We offer a casual drop-in rate of $25 per class. This is perfect for visitors travelling through Mildura who want to get a roll in while away from their home gym. It is also an option for locals who work fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) or irregular rosters and cannot commit to a weekly membership. However, for anyone training more than once a week, the standard weekly membership is always the most cost-effective option.

How Our Free Trial Works Step by Step

We know that starting a new martial art can be intimidating, which is why we offer a completely free trial class. It gives you the chance to step on the mats, meet our coaches, and see if our gym is the right fit for you before spending a single dollar. Booking is simple: just click the "Book Your Free Class" button on our website and select a time that suits you from our schedule. When you arrive, our coaching staff will greet you, show you where to leave your gear, and introduce you to your training partners for the day. There is no high-pressure sales pitch at the end of the class. We simply want you to experience the physical and mental benefits of jiu-jitsu firsthand. If you love it—and we are confident you will—we can discuss setting up your weekly membership. If not, you walk away having tried something new with zero financial obligation.

A Cost Comparison: BJJ vs. Standard Fitness Gyms

When considering the cost, it helps to frame it against a standard fitness gym membership. A regular 24/7 gym in Mildura might cost $15 to $20 per week, but that only gives you access to the facility and the equipment. You are left entirely on your own to figure out a routine, stay motivated, and ensure you are performing exercises safely. If you want a personal trainer to actually teach you what to do and hold you accountable, you are looking at an additional $60 to $80 per hour.

At Mildura Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, your $30 per week includes expert, hands-on coaching in every single class. You are not just renting space; you are learning a highly technical, practical skill. You are getting one of the most intense and rewarding full-body workouts possible, all while being guided by experienced coaches who are invested in your progress. Furthermore, you are joining a supportive community that keeps you accountable. When you don't show up to a treadmill, nobody notices. When you don't show up to the mats, your training partners will check in on you. Our gym has produced State and National Champions, but we are just as proud of our beginners and "lifers" who train purely for fitness and self defence. The value of that community and expert instruction far exceeds a basic gym swipe card.
